Vegetable producing
is a young industry in Iran and is growing very fast.
Sun flower, Soya beans, and olive includes the main resources for
producing vegetable oil in Iran.
Statistics show production capacity of 39.962 tons sunflower
91.563 tons Soya beans and 19.310 tons of olive in 1998.
Eight units produce 342.000 tons of sunflower oil and there are
17 units producing 40800 tons of olive oil, pressing, refining,
canning, and extraction.
There are 14 units producing 1.200.000 tons of refined oil and by
addition of 8 units up to the end of 1999, there would be an
increase of 740.000 tons in production.
Investment
opportunities
Due to ministry of agriculture's programs for cultivating olive,
annual establishment of 8 olive pressing units is recommended.
Installation of 2 units for oil pressing of imported seeds in
southern ports is highly suggested.
