Production Areas: Provinces of Hormnzagan, Boushehr, Khouzestan, Fars, and Kerman. Sistan & Baluchestan and Jiroft and Kahnuuj.

Main Varieties: Mazafati, Estameran, Zahedi, Kabkab, Barhi and Khazravi. Estameran (Sayer) is the most important export variety.

Nutritional Values: Date is a high Calorie food stuff and is rich in phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium and vitamins A, B1 and B2. Forms of Consumption: Consumed as fresh fruit and is used for producing date syrup and honey, liquid sugar, animal feed and date chocolate.
