Main Varieties: Jangali, Alborz, Tambargi or Japanease, Ashi or normal.

Nutritional Values: Rich in vitamin C, citric acid, malic acid and sugar.

Form of consumption: fresh fruit, jam, syrup, and soft drink.

Industrial & Medical Uses: Different parts of barberry shrubs, bark, root, stems, leaves and fruit have medical properties. It is also used as an ornamental plant in parks and gardens.
